About Us

WEISER RIVER Signature BEEF
, formed in May 2007, is owned and operated by Victor and Christy Ward.  The Wards are currently and actively engaged in the production of beef on their ranch and maintain complete control and ownership of the product throughout all stages of growth, processing and delivery.

Victor and Christy have a long history tied to agriculture and ranching.  Victor has more than 40 years of experience in the livestock industry raising sheep and cattle in the Cambridge and Indian Valley areas.  He grew up on a ranch near Cambridge, 30 miles from Weiser.  Victor maintains a sheep flock and cow-calf pairs on irrigated and dryland pastures, raising ALL of his livestock naturally, without the use of hormone implants, antibiotics, animal byproducts in feed, and with humane and ethical treatment of the animal.  Christy was raised in Mercer Island, Washington and came to Idaho to work for a title and escrow company in Council.  She and Victor have been married for more than 10 years and she shares equal responsibilities on the ranch in addition to owning and operating her own business.

WEISER RIVER Signature BEEF was established in the wake of a growing consumer demand for all-natural and local beef products.  The cattle are grass-fed and grain-finished and dry-aged for 7 days after slaughter.  The cattle in their program are fed for 16 months in order to reach the optimal, average weight of 1,250 pounds.

Susie Marshall, Manager, McCall Farmer’s Market

Victor participated as a vendor at the McCall Farmers Market for the first time in 2009 and quickly became a very valuable vendor, adding to the overall success of the Market with his quality products and commitment to all-natural and sustainable production. He actively worked to build awareness of the importance of local and sustainably grown food and the value such practice adds to the finished product. His sales grew as the season progressed and he found a strong venue for direct marketing his product.
